Ssssssso You Think You Can Dance?

I'd like to think I am a pretty laid-back person, despite what prior rants on this blog might indicate, but there are currently two media-related topics that are making my blood boil.
No, it's not the biased writings of Andrew Bolt or the inability of the Herald Sun to ignore Wayne Carey, it's something far more serious.

Vanessa O'Hanlon, of traffic report fame (TTFM, FOX FM, Sunrise and Channel 10 news), clearly has a prolonged enunciation of the letter 's', making her hiss and consequently this pisssssses me off. I mean, how annoying is it to sssssay everything with the sssss heavily prominent. The traffic report sounds pretty much like this:

The Eassssstern isss looking light at the moment, an easssy run there but the Monassh is not looking asss kind. It'sss a car park from Jacksssonss road, so take it eassy on the roads. There is one crassh, on the Wesssstern Ring Road, ssso make ssure you have your lightsss on. Back to you, Mal.

Dear God woman, lose the lisp!!!

The next thing that's bugging me is the show 'So You Think You Can Dance?'.
Dance!? DANCE?! What the hell has dancing got to do with it? The show should be renamed 'So You Think You Can Cry Like A Sooky La La Princess Because Your Life Is So Damn Hard And You Had To Overcome Extreme Adversity And Now All My Dreams Will Come True, Only To Be Crushed When I Have To Return To Reality Where I Will Be Bashed For Crying Every 2 Minutes'
And as for the audition song by Rhianna (the 'please don't stop the music, music, music' song), how inappropriate! On the SYTYCD official album I would consider the following titles:
  • 'It's a Hard Knock Life' - JZ
  • 'Cry Me a River' - JT
  • 'You're So Vain' - Carly Simon
  • 'Loser' - Third Eye Blind
  • 'Broken' - Seether
  • 'Bittersweet Symphony' - The Verve
  • 'Go Your Own Way' - Fleetwood Mac
